That line came from a real student interview, and every engineering student we talked to recognized it instantly: the phone within reach, the missed homework that snowballs, the midterm that could have been an A+. Willpower isn't a system. EduShelf is.

One shelf, a full focus system

• Phone lock — your phone goes in, and stays in, through each 50-minute Pomodoro study block with 5-minute breaks.
• Compact shelf — books, notebooks, pens and papers organized in one dorm-sized unit.
• Smart study lighting — desk lighting tuned for long study sessions in a dorm room.
• Progress monitor + Canvas tracker — a dedicated screen shows session progress and upcoming coursework.
• Reward system — streaks and motivation built in, so consistency pays off visibly.
• Smart sleep buzzer — a wake-up system that starts easing you awake an hour before your alarm.

Built on the same stack as our robots: ESP32, custom PCB, sensors, motors, and an LCD — engineered, not glued together.

We asked before we built

Customer development ran ahead of the hardware: 25 structured interviews with ASU students shaped the feature set — the phone lock and Canvas tracker exist because interviewees asked for them, not because we guessed. The plan: start local at ASU Polytechnic, expand across ASU campuses, then the Greater Phoenix area.
